What We Do

SCIENCE, EDUCATION, ADVOCACY

SEA stands for Science, Education and Advocacy, promoting science-based conservation in the Verde Island Passage.

The SEA Institute Philippines is a program of the ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. with a commitment to use science-based conservation in the VIP (Verde Island Passage), which is the world’s most biodiverse area of marine shore-fish, for the benefit of the reefs and local communities.

The SEA Institute follows a new consortium model that unites a diversity of stakeholders to coordinate research, educational outreach, and conservation efforts. This is done in order to provide rapid collection and dissemination of critical information, guidance to policy and decision-makers, and educational programs and materials to diverse and broad audiences.

Such an organization is urgently needed to increase capacity to successfully address the many challenges of conservation, such as sustainable economic development, education, and scientific research. The SEA Institute process is constantly guided by the most current scientific and economic information in order to properly work with and advise organizations in industrial, commercial, community, academic, governmental, and non-governmental sectors.
